she found winter
when the leaves
on her shoulder
This is interesting and another deep piece. Winter setting on her with Fall shedding on her. With the leaves here used as a figurative device to symbolize Autumn, it’s rather interesting that fall brought about her winter. The layers we shed in the presence of those we love…if not clothed back with their layers, leaves us feeling doubtful and cold, which I’m supposing is Winter in this piece. Correct me if I’m wrong, please.

That’s simply a beautiful piece of prose. I wouldn’t correct you if you were wrong. I see leaves as discardment.
Thanks David. Glad you liked my humble reading of your beautiful piece.
Nice poem. Nothing wrong with poem just that it leaves me wanting more.
I quite often take from what I’m writing what I feel could stand alone, and discard the other. I like that people can interpret things differently, and go somewhere inside a poem. Shorter poems seem to suit my style.
🙂 Thank you, Crystal, very muchly. 🙂
I like short poems too. Just followed you on winter 365.
