I think this is the case with writing it really needs to flow out of you. I spent ages refining my novel but not getting anywhere with it. Then I just decided I would start writing a blog while I was waiting to hear from agents about my novel. The blog just flowed out of me, I was on fire creatively, and the reception I got for it was fantastic. I’ve had more than 14,000 hits on it on WordPress and another website and I was only doing it as an idle thing to kill time! When you’re on the right path, things flow…

The best poems are the ones that fall out on the page in front of me. There’s nothing to edit. They are wonderful. Though it does help that they are not long poems. 🙂
